Training Subscriptions

Please email training.telfordac@gmail.com or message us using our enquiry form to begin training with us. Let us know what age and area you or your child is interested in

Our training nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm-8pm at Telford Athletic Stadium, most groups with one hour sessions​​

Train for free for three weeks and if you would like to continue, you can join the club and pay for training

Group availability:

​

If your child is 7-11:

We currently have space for all 7-12s to join us for training. The training is Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm-6pm. At this age, some prefer to train once per week and some prefer twice, it is your choice. The 7-12s training is based around making friends and enjoying their training, as well as athletic and speed development. We do lots of moving around, different to the more controlled detailed exercises in the older groups, and lots of running and dynamic training. The training covers speed, throwing, jumping and distance running. To learn more about the sessions, please use the app Spond and enter the group code IHFVG. If you/ your child is 13-17:

The junior groups are specialised, so please decide whether you want to join us for sprinting, distance running, jumping or throwing. Please contact training.telfordac@gmail.com with your child's age and area of interest to receive a fast reply and be matched with the coach as quickly as possible

If your child is 12/13:

They can decide whether they want to join the 7-12s training (which includes some 13 year olds), or the junior (12+) training. Or they can trial a session at both and see which they prefer to start with. Contact training.telfordac@gmail.com

18+ Training:

The two main areas for 18+ training is senior distance training (5K-marathon) and athletics training (sprinting, middle distance [below 5K], jumping, or throwing). If you would like specific senior distance training, please contact training.telfordac@gmail.com and let us know your age, rough idea of level (eg latest 10K time, mile time), and your aims for your training (eg a half marathon target). If you would like athletics training in a specific area eg sprinting, please contact training.telfordac@gmail.com and let us know what area you would like to train (sprints, middle distance, jumps, or throws, or a specific event eg pole vault)

Our training fees are included in the membership price. Costs for membership and training combined are:

-under 9s (currently) free

-year 5s £6.25 per month (paid annually)

-year 6 to year 13 £7.58 per month (paid annually)

-20+ £8.33 per month (paid annually)

If you already belong to another athletic club, you can still train at Telford AC, except in the senior distance training. You still need to fill out our membership form so you can pay for training and so the coaches have your information. When filling out the membership form, please select 'second claim' membership and you can stay registered with your real club. You will not be pressured or obligated to compete for TAC, you will only be a member for training purposes and can compete for your real club. Contact training.telfordac@gmail.com for more info
